Call for Expressions of Interest - Activities and Tools for the Prudent Use of Generative AI in Higher Education - Pôle interordres de Montréal - Artificial Intelligence

Context

This call for expressions of interest follows the Reflection Day held on May 31, 2023, which focused on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) in higher education. It also builds on five symposiums or institutional days supported by the PIM from January to June 2024. In a spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, the Pôle interordres de Montréal (PIM) aims to foster and support the sharing of institutional training initiatives, knowledge transfer, and tool development for the benefit of all member institutions.

Funding

The PIM intends to fund between 4 and 8 projects, with a combined budget of $120,000.

This call aims to support the development of tools and the implementation of complementary training or knowledge transfer activities in the following areas:

  • GAI and academic development (e.g., course planning, program support, etc.)
  • GAI and educational material production (e.g., presentations or case studies)
  • GAI in learning assessment and feedback
  • Learning with GAI support (conversational tutoring bots, auto-correction tools, learner self-regulation, etc.)
  • GAI in students' daily lives (awareness of issues related to integrity, safety, ethics, etc.)
  • Any other area related to the challenges, opportunities, or risks of using GAI in higher education.

Following the receipt and analysis of applications, applicants will be contacted during the week of November 25 for the second phase of the process. This phase will determine whether the project can move forward, further define its content and execution steps, explore potential collaborations or partnerships, and establish an agreement with the Pôle if applicable.
