Brain Canada and CQDM have partnered to support interprovincial collaborative biopharmaceutical research and development (R&D) projects focused on the brain. This funding opportunity aims to unite experts from academia and industry to advance platforms, tools, and biopharmaceutical innovations that will drive new breakthroughs in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of brain disorders. The initiative emphasizes brain research with direct applications to the biopharmaceutical sector, fostering collaboration, technological development, and the promotion of innovations from public institutions.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Applicants must be affiliated with and conduct research at a CIHR-eligible Canadian institution for the full duration of the grant.
- Research teams must include at least two independent investigators, with:
- A principal investigator based at a research institution in Quebec.
- An independent researcher from a research institution in another Canadian province.
- The team must collaborate with at least one Quebec-based small or medium-sized enterprise (SME).
- Project budgets should range between $500,000 and $1 million.
