Didier Jutras-Aswad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal. He is also a psychiatrist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM).
His research focuses on understanding the effects of cannabis in humans—particularly with regard to mental health—as well as on developing and studying innovative treatments for substance use disorders and their psychiatric comorbidities.
He also conducts studies to explore the role of the endocannabinoid system in addiction and drug-seeking behaviors. His work includes clinical trials and translational research aimed at evaluating how modulation of the endocannabinoid system may impact the treatment of substance dependence.
