Ekat Kritikou is a professor at the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Medicine and is vice-dean of research.

Ekat Kritikou has a doctorate in developmental biology and in cancer of the Cambridge University in United Kingdom. She continued her post-doctorate research at Zurich University in Switzerland. Since her arrival in in Montreal, she occupied numerous key positions at the Montreal Heart Institute and at the CHU Ste-Justice Research Centre (CRCHUSJ). She is recognized on a national scale for her important contribution in the administration of research. Her high level of expertise in molecular and genomic biology combined with her administration positions in our system gives her a unique profile that gains a lot of recognition from her colleagues. With the help of her exceptional leadership, she has put in place multiple initiatives that allow the improvement of big strategic initiative’s performance and the betterment of guiding researchers. She was named scientific director for the CRCHUSJ (2016-2017). She, then, occupied the position of Associate director – scientifical development (2017-2020). She is now vice-dean, research and development, at the Faculty of University of Montreal since September 2020.
