Matthieu Vanni

Assistant Professor
School of Optometry
University of Montreal

Matthieu Vanni is an assistant professor at the University of Montreal’s school of optometry. He is also the director of the neurophotonic laboratory.

He is interested in the functional organisation of the brain by using different neurophotonic approaches. More particularly, he is interested in the cortical map in the visual and motor cortex and functional connectivity with the help of calcic imaging and optogenetics in animal models. He also explores new therapy strategies allowing the treatment of visual deficiencies of visual neurological prostheses based on cerebral stimulation by optogenetics. He is also interested in cortical blindness by exploring the functional reorganisation of the brain and visual perception in stroke models.
